Movie Star Reneé Rapp Takes Movie Quiz, Reveals She Hasn’t Actually Seen Many Movies
For example: ‘Lady Bird.’

Reneé Rapp can belt a ballad, star in a big movie, and command a Broadway stage. But ask her if she’s seen any movie ever, and that’s where things get messy.
The singer and actor played a round of What’s Your Favorite Movie? with Viral Interviews, and the only thing dying the little over three minute clip was kind of cinephile credibility.
First red flag was she’s never seen Lady Bird. Somewhere in Hollywood, Saoirse Ronan felt a disturbance in the air. Then came the face-off between Legally Blonde and Burlesque
“Never seen Burlesque,” Reneé admitted with a sly smile. Ouch. Christina Aguilera and Cher deserved better.

And when La La Land entered the ring against Legally Blonde, she actually picked Damien Chazelle’s jazz-inspired love letter to Hollywood. Elle Woods would never.
“I’m crying she’s never watched anything," one person rightfully clocked.
“Actor that doesn’t watch anything lmfaoooo she’s hilarious," someone else said.
“I’ll never be against her but picking Booksmart over Lady Bird was the first sign this was going to be bad." Literally.

Some commenters were kinder to the former Sex Lives of College Girls star, pointing out that, as she’s 25, her frame of reference will naturally skew toward stuff released during her formative years. Still, not knowing Cruel Intentions is crazy. Picking Twilight over Gone Girl is a little unforgivable. Another big red flag was choosing Promising Young Woman over anything.
What makes this even more funny is that Rapp actually has impeccable taste in music. So why not film?
We’re going to give Rapp some grace. She’s not the only movie star who doesn’t indulge in the medium if they don’t have to for work. Denzel Washington recently told GQ he’s sick of movies himself.
“I don’t watch movies, man. I really don’t,” he said. “I’m just being honest with you! I don’t watch movies! I don’t go to the movies. I don’t watch movies. I’m tired of movies. Yeah.”
