The New York fashion brand Public School is officially back in session. After months of whispers and mentions, designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne have reemerged with a teaser video featuring Carmelo Anthony, Marisa Tomei, and Slick Rick.

The clip follows months of quiet teasing, including a Fashion Week dinner that hinted the comeback was near. “This is what tonight’s dinner is all about—it’s bringing everyone back home,” Chow told Vogue. “It’s really important to see how much love and support we still have after being away for six years. That means a lot. It means we did something really special, and we hope to do something really special again.”

Founded in 2008, Public School is rooted in streetwear, yet refined enough for the runway. Since the brand’s hiatus, both designers have explored separate creative paths, bringing back their signature New York edge earlier this year.

They most recently dressed Minnesota Vikings football player Justin Jefferson for the 2025 Met Gala, creating a custom double-breasted plaid suit and cape that paid tribute to André Leon Talley.

The look, as they wrote on Instagram, reflected their “new PS silhouette”—a nod to where they’ve been and where they’re headed next.

“Superfine: Tailoring Black Style was this year’s theme but it’s been a constant in our work over the years,” they wrote on Instagram. “With menswear taking center stage, we set out with one of our favorite classic patterns, a Glenn Plaid Check, to build our look around. A high waisted double pleated pant paired with a cropped double breasted peak lapel jacket set the tone for the new PS silhouette."
