Who’s really digging for samples? On Public Domain, a new series from Type.Set.Brooklyn, veteran producers mine 100-plus-year-old tracks for loops that sound brand new before a rapper spits over them.
For our premiere episode, we brought in the Grammy-winning Bbearded, who flipped “My Sweetie Went Away,” a Bessie Smith song from 1923, for Nay Speaks.
