Google is rolling out Nano Banana Pro, a high-end version of image generator built into Gemini, and the results show just how fast we’re moving toward something resembling the Singularity. The Pro release includes updates that will blur the lines even further between real and AI-generated images and video.

“We’re all cooked,” creator Chad Epps said before outlining exactly what the app can do.

At its core, Nano Banana Pro, released last Wednesday for enterprise clients, is an AI image engine that can generate, edit, and remix visuals with a level of detail and nuance that’s honestly terrifying. Think Photoshop on steroids, with machine learning trained on billions of images. With this update, the flaws typically associated with AI are pretty much gone.

For one thing, it generates accurate across a range of languages. This, as Epps noted, means you can cook up things like fake text exchanges.

Nano Banana Pro does not churn out the glossy sheen common to AI, instead delivering more natural textures, lighting, and details.

With the Pro update, Google also improved Nano Banana’s ability to generate images and videos from uploaded content. The tool can show subjects from multiple angles, and it can respond to more specific, nuanced prompts.

The example above from Google’s blog shows the potential Nano Banana Pro could hold for agencies and creatives. However, as others have pointed out, the software has enormous potential to spread misinformation on global or personal levels.

“The cheating allegations are about to be crazy,” Epps said. “So many relationships are about to end, dog.”
