Our Unhinged Year in Movies, According to the Best Letterboxd Reviews
‘call me gal gadot the way i don’t know how to act rn.’

Superman
After a headache of a decade with the DC Extended Universe, Warner Bros. started anew with the James Gunn-led DC Universe. The reimagined cinematic universe kicked things off with a return to form for the beloved Superman, with many viewing David Corenswet’s empathetic portrayal of the Man of Steel the most charismatic since Christopher Reeve.
If Superman is an indication, DC fans can expect smoother sailing moving forward.
F1
Joseph Kosinski’s F1 is the highest-grossing film to come out of Apple Studios. The Brad Pitt blockbuster raced into the hearts of racing fans across the globe. It’s also a formidable contender for the greatest “dad film” of the year. “The only F1 ticket i [sic] could afford,” exclaimed one user after viewing the feature set in the lavish world of Formula 1.

One Battle After Another
Does Paul Thomas Anderson have a classic for every decade of his career? The director's latest was met with universal acclaim.
“If the president sees this he will either ban movies or kill himself,” proclaimed user @ConnorEatPants.
Is it a simple coincidence that the president inserted himself into the sale of the film’s distributor, Warner Bros.?

Marty Supreme

The Long Walk
This Stephen King adaptation made $63.1 million worldwide on a $20 million budget and earned 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. However, its greatest accomplishment was spawning this post, which, while it ignores essentially every piece of context the movie offered, Letterboxd users are unanimously hailing as the greatest review of 2025.
