There will soon be one less Kali Uchis song in the world.

The Colombian American singer responded to fan comments on Instagram confirming she’s taking down her collaboration with singer D4vd, “Crashing,” after news broke that a body found in a car registered to him belonged to a missing 15-year-old girl.

When one commenter accused her of being friends with him, writing, “your friend D4vd is a murder and chomo smh," Kali wasted no time setting the record straight.

“Not my friend I did a song with him which is currently in the process of being taken down given today’s disturbing news," she said.

The “disturbing” news refers to the identification of the body discovered earlier this month in a Tesla registered to D4vd. Authorities confirmed it was 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who had been missing from her Lake Elsinore home since last year, according to ABC7 Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has not yet released a cause of death.

The case has generated widespread speculation online. Police were reportedly called to an impound lot on Sept. 8 after a foul odor was detected coming from the vehicle. The New York Times reported that Rivas’ body was “severely decomposed” and appeared to have been in the trunk for some time.

Despite the revelations, D4vd continued with his tour schedule, performing in Minneapolis on Sept. 9. He was slated to appear in Seattle days later, but that show was canceled, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The news has hit especially close to Kali’s world because just weeks before, on Aug. 31, she brought D4vd out on stage during her Austin tour stop to perform Crashing,” as noted by social posts and setlist.fm.

Kali later addressed fans again before limiting her comments, replying to one user defending her.

“Its ok bb people like her are why women always get blamed for the things men do lol, the internalized misogyny of this world I suppose," she said.
