Beyoncé is officially a billionaire. After an estimated combined net worth of $1.16 billion made Knowles and husband Jay-Z a billionaire couple in 2017, Forbes reports that Bey, 44, has now joined the 10-figure club as a standalone force. She becomes the fifth musician to achieve the milestone, joining the ranks of Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, and, of course, Hov.
The announcement cements Beyoncé’s status as not just a generational artist, but also an entrepreneurial powerhouse. How did Bey get here? Through music, touring, and smart partnerships.
Touring
Beyoncé is the eighth-highest-grossing live act of all time, generating a combined gross of $1.78 billion across nearly 12 million tickets sold. Her recent 32-date Cowboy Carter Tour across the US and Europe brought in $407.6 million, with approximately 1.6 million attendees.
Ivy Park
Originally launched in partnership with fast-fashion company Topshop in 2016, Beyoncé’s athleisure line was an instant success. Knowles brought the brand to Adidas in 2019, and though it’s been dormant since that partnership ended in 2023, we probably haven’t seen the last of Ivy Park
Parkwood Entertainment
Through her entertainment company, Beyoncé has experienced great success as both a music and film producer. Parkwood’s filmography includes 2008’s Cadillac Records, 2009’s Obsessed, and more than a dozen visual albums and concert documentaries.
Parkwood’s music division has helped launch the careers of Sophie Beem and Chloe x Halle, a duo that earned five Grammy nominations.
Cécred
Beyoncé haircare brand is a runaway success. Last month, Essence reported that Cécred generated over $100 million in revenue from its Edge Drops product alone, with a purchase occurring every 16 seconds.
Fragrances
While Bey’s original fragrance and fashion line House of Deréon proved to be only marginally successful, it would not be the last we’d see of the singer in this space. She would come back swinging with the 2010 and 2014 releases of Heat and Rise, respectively, ultimately raking in over $400 million from these perfumes.
Endorsements
The brand of Bey is one that sells. Past endorsement deals for Knowles include Nintendo, Tiffany & Co, and L'Oréal. Notably, Beyoncé earned $50 million from an endorsement deal with Pepsi, and brought in a reported $10 million from a recent partnership with Levi’s that tied in to Cowboy Carter’s release.
