Drake took time out overnight to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who died at 76 yesterday.

The Boy, currently on tour in the U.K., was among the mourners who descended on the Black Sabbath Bench, near the Black Sabbath Bridge, in Birmingham, Osbourne’s hometown.

The New York Times reports that Drake pulled up to the memorial in “a car with blacked-out windows, stood by the bench and then poured some tequila on the ground.”

“I just came out to pay respects to someone who lived it to the fullest,” Drake said.

He added that Osbourne was a “cultural touchstone,” even for those who couldn’t name an Ozzy song.

Ozzy Osbourne was born in 1948 and began his career as lead singer for Black Sabbath, a band that helped shape heavy metal. The group released its self-titled debut in 1970. Osbourne would release seven more albums with Sabbath before the band kicked him out in 1979. He launched his solo career with 1980's Blizzard of Oz, which featured “Crazy Train,” one of his most beloved songs.

Alongside his family, including wife Sharon, son Jack, and daughter Kelly, Osbourne starred in The Osbournes, an MTV reality show that ran for four seasons between 2002 and 2005.

After more than three decades apart, Ozzy and Sabbath reunited and released 13, their last studio album as a group, in 2013. Black Sabbath performed their final show in Birmingham on July 5.

Osbourne had been fighting a variant of Parkinson’s disease for several years. No cause of death was disclosed.
