Devon Walker Leaves ‘SNL,’ Calling Time on Show Both ‘Really Cool’ and ‘Toxic as Hell’
Series creator Lorne Michaels teased a larger cast shakeup before season 51 kicks off.

Devon Walker is exiting Saturday Night Live ahead of the show’s 51st season.
In an Instagram post that arrived days after series creator Lorne Michaels teased a cast shakeup, Walker announced his departure.
“Me and the show did three years together, and sometimes it was really cool,” he wrote. “Sometimes it was toxic as hell.”
Walker debuted on SNL in 2022. Over three seasons with the show, he portrayed figures including Shannon Sharpe, Van Jones, Michael Strahan, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
According to his Instagram post, Walker, 34, is Japan-bound.
“When I get back I’m tryna be in a prestige drama,” he wrote. “Ideally something with Julianne Moore.”
