A New Cynthia Erivo Meme Just Dropped
“Are you joking?”

Cynthia Erivo is not just the star of Wicked: For Good, but she’s the star of your timeline as well. As she and Ariana Grande continue their press-tour reign, they’ve been building a new universe of reaction images. The last tour gave us months of content and reactions. And it looks like this one is shaping up to beat the franchise.
The latest Erivo meme was born outside of the Palais Garnier in Paris, where she ran into a fan named Clara, who casually revealed she had Erivo’s lost hat. No, I didn’t just make that up. She really held on to a lost hat for a year.
“Are you joking?” Erivo asks, eyes widening as she steps back and puts forth her palm in an exaggerated manner.
“Oh my god. May I have it back, please?” she asks with all the light in the world in her eyes.

Clara then explains that the hat is… not on her head. It’s actually safely at her house. She had to swap contact info with Erivo’s team to ensure she got it back to her. As happy as we are about the hat, we’re even more grateful that we got this meme.
Erivo is not new to this—she is true to this. The woman has become a one-person meme pipeline for Hollywood. She’s already the face behind “the concept of,” one of X’s favorite formats, and the internet wasted no time combining her eras.
One tweet joked about “the concept of a second iconic Cynthia Erivo reaction gif hitting the timeline,” while another said, “they have Cynthia Erivo working double shifts with no bathroom breaks at the gif factory.”
At this point, with the Wicked promo train still rolling, who knows what other delightfully unhinged moments she’ll give us?
