Bill Nye the Science Guy officially has his name cemented among Hollywood’s brightest stars—literally. On Monday, the bow-tie king of science education received his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, joining 2,821 other legends, CBS News reports.

“Thank you so much,” Nye said at the ceremony, standing in a gray suit, crisp white shirt, and his signature bow tie, this time in a bright shade of yellow. “This just means to the world to me.”

“It means the world to me,” he continued. “I think the word is verklempt. I'm whelmed. I'm on the edge of overwhelmed. I mean, I have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!”

Nye wasn’t alone in his celebration. Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, whom Nye connected with last year after the star asked how he could meet him, showed up to give Nye his flowers. He called participating in the ceremony an “honor."

"My love for science runs deep. And I have Bill to thank for that. But not just for myself. But for a generation of students who grew up in the public school system possibly thinking that school was not for them," Brown told the crowd. "Bill did not just teach science. He taught a generation of students from all walks of life to explore, to discover, to create, and also to ask questions. Bill this Walk of Fame is not just for an incredible career. It's also for the curiosity you spark, the doors you've opened, and the minds you continue to inspire all over the glove. Thank you from a generation of students who grew up watching you, listening to your voice. Thank you for changing the world one dad joke, one science experiment at the time."

During his speech, Nye talked about how science and research are in trouble.

“Our democracy is proving to be fragile,” he said, "and basic scientific research, public health policies, and protections are at risk.”

He continued: “We can work together to inspire people everywhere and influence the course of history. Thank you all so much. Let’s change the world.”

Nye created Bill Nye the Science Guy, a children’s show that ran from 1993 to 1999. In recent years, though, Nye hasn’t only been the Science Guy. Some have dubbed him “the Fashion Guy” as he’s popped up on the runway at Fashion Week’s 9th Annual Blue Jacket Runway Show this year and and even served super-chic looks in a Time Out New York piece.
