Beyoncé Changes Tour Visuals After Cease-and-Desist From the Sphere
The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer switched up an interlude on her Cowboy Carter Tour following a warning from the Las Vegas venue’s owner.

The Sphere is no more—at least when it comes to Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour visuals.
The singer has changed the stadium seen in one of her tour interlude videos after receiving a cease-and-desist from the owner of the larger-than-life venue.
Beyoncé performed for a third night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and fans quickly noticed she swapped out an image of the Sphere, owned by James Dolan, for Allegiant Stadium in a video that sees a giant-size Beyoncé pick up the venue and glare at it.

The New York Post first reported news about the letter last week, saying it was sent to Parkwood, Beyoncé entertainment company, by Kathleen McCarthy, a lawyer for Sphere Entertainment Group.
“SEG was never asked and the prominent appearance and manipulation of SEG’s Sphere venue in the video is unauthorized,” the letter read.
McCarthy also demanded that Parkwood “cease and desist from using the Sphere venue in the video immediately — in addition to refraining from using this imagery on any merchandise, promotional or marketing materials, or in tour movies.”
According to the Post, Beyoncé and her team had until Monday to make the change and that, if they didn’t, the venue “reserves all rights to take further action as SEG deems appropriate without notice.”

Since the Sphere opened, there’s been a swirl of rumors claiming Beyoncé would perform at the venue during a tour or as a residency of some sort. The venue was even featured in her 2024 Super Bowl ad for Verizon.
The Cowboy Carter Tour will make its way to Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on July 25 for a two-night run.
