How Ice Spice, Lil Baby, and Tommy Richman Powered the Weekend
Introducing Still Hit Monday, the songs that came out on Friday and survived past Sunday.

Every Friday, the timeline floods with “new music you need to hear.” By Monday, most of it’s already forgotten. Our new Column Still It Monday is for what stuck: the tracks that made it through the weekend and earned a permanent spot in your saved tracks on Spotify, Apple Music, or, in my case, Tidal.
Each week, we’re discussing a number of songs that actually deserve your time: the ones we kept hearing, talking about, and falling in love with each time we ran it back. No filler, no hype—just the real winners of New Music Friday.
And we’re taking it off the timeline, too. On socials, we’re asking people wherever the aux is what new release they couldn’t stop spinning all weekend. Because if it’s still it Monday, it’s probably a hit.
Jane Remover, “So What?” + “Music Baby”
Producer: Jane Remover
Stepping into a Jane Remover song feels like being dropped straight into the emotional peak of a coming-of-age movie, the moment when everything finally comes into focus for the main character. Their newly released EP, ♡, includes two new songs that captures that same rush of yearning, urgency, and quiet heroism that’s become Jane’s signature. One of Gen Z’s most exciting sonic shape-shifters, the digicore artist continues to blur boundaries with earworm-ready results. On “Music Baby,” Jane lights up with a euphoric collision of Jersey club bounce, hyperpop, and trap-leaning drums, sculpted into a sound that feels both explosive and emotionally grounded. Meanwhile, on “So What?” they lean harder into vulnerability, layering an electric guitar over racing beats to create an anthem that pulses with restless momentum.
Tommy Richman + Brent Faiyaz, “Bother Me”
Producer: Spizzledoe
After months of chasing the lightning he caught with “Million Dollar Baby,” Tommy Richman finally stops trying to recreate the moment and in doing so finds a new one. Teaming up with label boss Brent Faiyaz on “Bother Me,” Richman pivots into a slick, Ginuwine-coded R&B lane that fits him effortlessly. The single oozes with velvet-smooth vocals over minimalist production. "Bother Me” takes its time, letting seduction and subtlety do the heavy lifting. It’s moody, patient, and cool—the kind of track that quietly earns repeat plays as the weekend winds down.
Disclosure + Leon Thomas, “Deeper”
Producer: Guy Lawrence
Is anyone having a bigger year in R&B than Leon Thomas? It’s hard to argue otherwise, and he’s clearly not easing up anytime soon. On what feels like a victory-lap collaboration, Thomas links with electronic duo Disclosure for “Deeper.” His vocals are strong, crisp, and intentionally understated, cutting clean through the production with confidence. The song is textbook UK-garage-coded, with skittering drums, sporadic claps, and a menacing bassline. The mood carries a familiar tension, echoing the sleek and bright energy of Jorja Smith and Preditah’s 2017 classic, “On My Mind." It’s a club-ready cool song built for both headphones and dance floors.
Elmiene, “Cry Against The World”
Producer: Ghostnote + Andrew Aged + Buddy Ross
Whether he’s doing it intentionally or not, Elmiene seems incapable of releasing a song that doesn’t hit straight in the chest. His latest offering, “Cry Against the World,” is a slow-burn tearjerker built to catch you off guard. And it’s not just his tender, aching vocals doing the damage. It’s everything else working in unison. The lyrics flirt with an unsettling vulnerability. Then, layered beneath that and Elmiene’s voice, is a shadowy guitar performance from Andrew Aged (formerly of Mk.gee’s tour band and brother to frequent Frank Ocean collaborator Daniel Aged), whose playing gives the track a nocturnal feel, each note lingering just long enough to completely shattered your heart.
Lil Baby + Playboi Carti + Skooly, “Let’s Do It”
Producer: DJ Moon + Clif Shayne + KP Beatz
Lil Baby is swinging hard against the “washed” allegations with The Leaks, a compilation built off of years of teased snippets and leaks that are finally getting a release. The project’s undeniable standout arrives, true to form, courtesy of Playboi Carti. On “Let’s Do It,” Baby and Carti pull Skooly into the mix for a playful banger that sounds straight-up Nintendo-coded. The beat bounces like a character like a video game character would as Carti glides in, adding flair that keeps the track light and goofy. Baby, meanwhile, seems dialed back into the fun of rapping, sounding less pressured and delivering more personality.
Ice Spice + Tokischa, “Thootie”
Producer: RIOTUSA, Rémy
One thing about Ice Spice is she’s going to be a baddie in every language possible. And with “Thootie,” her link-up with Dominican rapper Tokischa, the Bronx princess sounds fully back in her bag. This track is built for the club from the ground up, with infectious drums and bass, and a bounce engineered for maximum ass-shaking per minute.
By Friday night, DJs were already spinning it, and a real-life litmus test I saw myself proved its immediate impact. In a mix that featured Bad Bunny and Sean Paul, when “Thootie” filtered in, the room basically started to bounce. Hips began to move, suddenly everybody was doing their best Shakira impressions. Ice’s cool delivery melds perfectly with Tokischa’s charisma, creating a loud, fun, and physical bop.
