Anthony Edwards Crowns Timothée Chalamet ‘White Boy of the Year’: ‘You Earned It’

Chalamet, calling in from the Dune 3 set in Budapest, accepted the honor with the kind of enthusiasm that makes you wish he’d stayed off Wi-Fi. “I’m usually off my phone,” he said, “but then they say Ant Man wants to give you White Boy of the Year.”

Other nominees included Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise, MrBeast, and Pat McAfee, proof that the selection committee was definitely trolling, because why, in the year 2025, would any of the aforementioned be “White Boy of the Year"?

Reacting to the win, Chalamet started saying things like “swag” and joked about needing to get his “street cred” up for an imaginary Training Day remake. Then, just to make sure no one was left un-cringed, he talked about wearing Gucci flip-flops on a set of a movie in Atlanta when DS2 dropped.

“I’m inspired by Ant Man the way I’m inspired by athletes in general,” he said towards the end. “I’m trying to be one of the greatest of all time.”

Naturally, he didn’t waste a chance to chat about his upcoming movie Marty Supreme. 

He wrapped up his speech with a heartfelt (?) thank-you to all the white boys who laid the foundation for him, including the rightful winner Justin Bieber.
